POKOTABI / Hitotsunagi
焼き鳥と酒 ヒトツナギ
Just by Asakusabashi Station, Hitotsunagi serves charcoal-grilled chicken wings and neck meat alongside dashi omelets and potato salad, matched with sake and craft gin.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The savory aroma of chicken grilling over charcoal greets guests as soon as they take a seat. Located steps from Asakusabashi Station, Hitotsunagi focuses on skewers cooked with precise heat management over the coals. Chicken wings arrive with crisp skin and juicy meat within, gizzards keep a pleasant bite, and neck meat (seseri) concentrates deep savory flavor, each skewer highlighting the distinct character of the cut. For first-timers, multi-skewer courses with five or seven selections blend yakitori with seasonal vegetable skewers, offering an easy way to enjoy them straight off the grill.
Side dishes warrant attention between skewers. A potato salad topped with a soft-boiled Nagoya Cochin egg offers a rich texture once broken open, pairing effortlessly with drinks. Made to order, the dashi rolled omelet is soft and fluffy, releasing comforting dashi broth with each bite. The counter menu also includes chilled sake accompaniments such as toriwasa made with Satsuma Chiran chicken, slow-cooked tender chicken liver with ponzu, and plum cartilage (ume suisho).
Drinks run deep, from draft Sapporo Black Label to sakes such as Senkin and Hakurakusei alongside daily recommendations that cut through the richness of the chicken. Unique spirits from AKAYANE infused with sansho pepper or ginger and tea-infused highballs made with Kaga bōcha add variety to the lineup. To conclude, guests often turn to crisp, soy-glazed grilled onigiri or comforting dashi chicken rice porridge.
With only around 8 seats along the counter, the compact interior keeps the grill's energy and the staff's service close at hand. Because seating is limited, the room fills up quickly, making advance reservations a sensible step before visiting.
